I was wandering around the AngelGate exhibition yesterday I found some cool stuff that I needed to explore more about some artist’s that I was not yet familiar with their work. Not to say I didn’t thoroughly enjoy seeing more work from my favorite artists, like Spiral, Poid, Soror, Glyph, Talia, this place was packed with tasty.
This morning I went to Alizarin’s gallery, I am glad I did. There was more and more goodness from the teaser I had at AngelGate. I like the pieces that I could walk into and be surrounded by the micro environments, good stuff.
Here is some information on the note card provided by Alizarin.
“ Real Life Information: http://www.marthavista.com
Most of the 2 and 3D works incorporate textures made from my real life digital drawings. The drawings are done just like traditional drawings except that I use digital tools, including a software program called Corel Painter 10 and a pressure-sensitive digitizing tablet and stylus. As I draw, the tablet and stylus electronically translate the motions of my hand into strokes that look as though they were made with the drawing tool I have selected (charcoal pencil or pastel, for example). I see these strokes occurring real-time on my monitor.
I have been a professional visual artist in Real Life for a long time. I show in several prominent galleries, and my work is included in many museum, corporate, and private collections. The 2-D landscapes that I sell in Second Life are high-quality jpegs of my RL art.
I love it that my digitally-created work at last has a home in a digital environment.”
