Events

I asked the eight ball, it said, "No"

Example: I am at an event, someone mentions an event coming up that sounded interesting. I message the event coordinator for more information, or someplace I can find more information. They invite me to a group, which is not what I wanted and wasn’t about the event itself.  They let me know the day and place and offer me a LM. I ask if there is a certain time and who would be playing (music event) and I am told to check the event schedule for the times.

Have any of you tried to decipher the in world event schedule? I guess I don’t really want to go to the event. I give up.

If someone is looking to attend your event, you should be ready to let them know where, when and what your event is.  Without these simple things you can rest assured that your event is not well organized. You will feel frazzled at your own disorganization.

Here are a few tips to considered, this is not an exhaustive list and please feel free to share tips in the comments. Sharing is Caring!

  • Give yourself plenty of lead time for your event.
  • Get friends to help and advertise for you
  • Put together a brief note card about your event with a LM, time and date of event. Try not to ramble on.
  • Fancy invites are fun but then you have to rez it, take it out, etc. Keep it simple.
  • Make it easy for others to share the event information, make sure your note card is shareable.
  • List the event in your picks, use your webtab to point to a website about your event, put it someplace in your profile.
  • Put it on a Google calendar, make it easy for others to add your event to their calendar with one easy click.
  • Do one or all of these.
