Dragons Eye Pavillion

Dragon's Eye Pavillion

Recently I had the pleasure of sitting in on this group during a story time. I KNOW I hear it now, “STORIES R 4 the children” but that isn’t true and you know it and I know it. *looks your way*

I was sitting there listening to the story and winding deeper and deeper into the tale. They do it on voice and they have props it was really immersive, fresh and they are pretty serious about this storytelling stuff. Recently they have also opened an island, I went to visit today and I hope to make the story time this evening. Maybe you can come too, come sit with me.

I hope to dress up in something Asian inspired for the event.

Here is a bit more info from their group charter:

Ildathach is the “the Land of the Bright Shadow” in Irish mythology, a storied place of sojourning gods and shape-shifters  that claimed my imagination in the first tale I heard told. Idathach Island is a fugue of sorts, a work of change and constancy, of repeating, complementary themes, a visual representation of the places of wonder in one storyteller’s soul. Come visit, listen, learn, stay and tell and live in this place as the tales bid us: “…happily, wisely and well.”

Tonight’s event:

Wednesday, July 8 at 5 p.m. SLT

The second in the series of “Uncanny Evenings” on Ildathach, join storyteller Afsaneh Metaluna for some strange and wonderful Chinese and Japanese tales that will by turns warm your heart and chill your spine.
