This tree is a beauty
It’s Monday! Looks like we are off to a good week. It’s a bit foggy out but that isa cozy kind of morning, I don’t mind.
I sign in this am and find a note from Soror. She’s got an itch to bring her SL tree/plant creations. I think it’s a great idea but it’s still pretty costly. I want an entire forest but just like most art, I’d probably have to save a couple nickels until I could get one. BUT isn’t that fun? the build up, and I could easily see these as collector items.
Here is what Soror had to say in her note:
“ HI, I have just finished my first RL tree….Details are on my blog. (see profile). http://sorornishi.blogspot.com I am interested to know if anyone would like to own a real soror tree because I am thinking of having it cast.
In bronze, with glass canopy and flowers it would be about 2-3000 US$ and in resin about 500US. I am thinking of doing a simpler (cheaper) tree, probably a single trunk like my birch, if there is interest….
so….send me a notecard or email …. sorornishi@mac.com if you have any ideas or comments…”
Soleil Invitation by Miso Susanowa
Wow, I just came across some information about a humongous art show at AngelGate that opens tomorrow July, 11th at 10am. They are showcasing thirty-six artists with some familiar names and some new names to me.
There is some interactive sculpture, some 2d. OOOOoo Glyph Graves has an exhibit, a different world. “The colors are the deep red of bloodwood eucalyptus sap and brown grays of the bark, the olive greens of leaves, the yellows of the sandstone and coastal Banksia flowers and … of course, iridescent Christmas beetles.” a statement Glyph shared on the show information notes.
Let’s see hmm, who else is here, Oh I see Soror Nishi. She is another one of my favorite artists in SL. Come to think of it I have a lot of favorites, it’s okay to have more than one in fact you can have as many as you like.
Feathers Boa, a name that I recall from only seeing one previous exhibit but it surely left an impression. There were giant tubes of paint and canvas with really top notch texturing, I loved it. I will look forward to checking out what she is bringing to the table.
I don’t want to drone on and one, but it’s a grand list of artists showing.
The theme of the show is Soleil. The curator is White Lebed. The location is on Angelgate.
